This is a good set for those who will be cutting both
light weight and heavy materials. The
set includes one Craft & Hobby Knife (light duty use) and one Medium Duty
Knife, as well as a total of 12 assorted blades (6 for each knife). Please see the photos for a visual on the
different blade styles.
Use the knives for precision cutting and trimming of:
paper, stencils, card-stock, cardboard, vinyl, foam, wood, fabric, plastic, rubber,
leather, film, photographs, cork, and numerous other materials.
The knurled handles provide a slip resistant
grip. The handle of the Medium Duty
Knife is larger than that of the light duty knife so that one can get a better
grip on it for cutting heavier material, however, it is still small enough that
it can be held in a pencil style grip.
For the Craft & Hobby Knife (light duty knife) the
6 blades include: 3 Double Honed blades (#11), 1 Curved Edge Blade (#10), 1 Stencil
Edge Blade (#16), and 1 Small Chisel Blade (#17).
For the Medium Duty Knife the 6 blades include: 3
Deburring Blades (#24), 1 Straight Edge Blade (#2), 1 Curved Edge Blade (#22),
and 1 Sharp Edge Angled Blade (#19).
All the blades are replaceable and come in reusable plastic
cases. To swap out blades simply loosen the chuck and slide the blade out, then
slide in the new blade and tighten the chuck again. The blades are razor sharp so please be
careful.
The Craft & Hobby Knife (light duty knife) is compatible
with Excel Blades: #5 / #6 / #10 / #11 / #12 / #13 / #16 / #17 / #17A / #21.
The Medium Duty Knife is compatible with Excel Blades:
#2 / #18 / #19 / #22 / #23 / #24 / #25 / #26 / #27 / #28.
Both knives come with a safety cap!
