Established in 2018 the Meadow Home Country Store is not just a store, it’s a dream, and it has become such a joy in our lives.
We are located in the foothills of the beautiful Cascade Mountains of rural Oregon, where we enjoy the vast forests, mild weather, and the nearby pacific coast.
With a preference for goods made in the USA and a tendency towards a simpler way of life, we strive to add value to the community that benefits everyone. Though not easy, we search far and wide for quality products to offer our customers and are diligent to maintain a stable inventory that they can rely on.
In addition to the Christian values we live by we have identified four principles to guide our store and those who work in it:
- Hold God at the forefront of life and business
- Spending time with family and friends, and caring for them
- Living a healthy lifestyle
- Good stewardship of the land, both the wild and cultivated
The store’s name was inspired by the owners love for meadows and by the song “Home in the Meadow” written by Sammy Cahn for the film “How the West was Won” and sung to the tune of Greensleeves. Here are the lyrics:
Away, Away
Come away with me
Where the grass grows wild, where the winds blow free
Away, Away
Come away with me
And I'll build you a home in the meadow
Come, Come
There's a wondrous land
For the hopeful heart, for the willing hand
Come, Come
There's a wondrous land
Where I'll build you a home in the meadow
The stars, the stars
Oh how bright they'll shine
On a world that the Lord must have helped design
The stars, the stars
Oh how bright they'll shine
On that home we will build in the meadow
Come, Come
There's a wondrous land
For the hopeful heart, for the willing hand
Come, Come
There's a wondrous land
Where I'll build you a home in the meadow
